Moirang Thangjing Yageirel Marup celebrates 53rd Foundation Day

Moirang, April 17 2025: Moirang Thangjing Yageirol Marup celebrated its 53rd foundation day today at INA Martyr's Memorial Auditorium Hall, Moirang.

The event was attended by Moirang Assembly Constituency MLA, Thongam Shanti as chief guest, president of Moirang Thangjing Yageirel Marup, Moirangthem Nodia (Nodia Ngangoicha) as functional president and The Historical Heritage Development Organisation Moirang, Konjengbam Mohendro Singh as guest of honour.

The celebration commenced by paying floral tributes to the founding fathers of the Marup.

As part of the event, a book titled "Moirang Gi Puwarida Shalwol Langlol" written by Nodia Ngangoicha, president of Moirang Thangjing was released by the presidium members.

Later, Retd Principal of Kumbi College, Kumam Jugeshwar Singh and Executive member, Moirang Thangjing Yageirol Marup, Hemam Boyai gave a foundation lecture on the topics related to "Rulers of Moirang dynasty" and "Early days of Moirang" .

A district level painting competition on the theme "Moirang Kangleirol" was also organised for the students of the district as part of the foundation day celebration.

Divided into two categories (Class IV-VII) and (Class VIII-XII), the painting competition witnessed participation from around 100 students from various schools of the district.

The winners of the painting competition were later felicitated with certificates and cash prizes as encouragement.
