Judge donates blood in support for paediatric patients

In a rare and significant gesture of social responsibility, Reena Serto, District and Sessions Judge of Ukhrul district today donated her blood in support of the scheme "Free Blood for Children" launched by Helping Hands for People (HHP) on January 14 at JNIMS, Porompat.
Reena Serto stated that even though there is a mandate of the Supreme Court to provide required blood to Thalassemia patients without replacement.
The initiative of providing free blood to paediatric patients without replacement is a scheme of Helping Hands for People.
It is very fortunate for the people of Manipur that such a special scheme, for children is launched by the Helping Hands for People, said Reena.
In support of the scheme launched by HHP, she is also donating blood for the unfortunate paediatric patients, added Reena.
Urging the people to donate blood to save children's lives, she added that "even though medical science has advanced significantly, artificial blood has not been developed till date" .
Only if we donate blood there will be sufficient stock of blood in blood centres, and can save the lives of children, Reena asserted.
The Helping Hands for People, Manipur president, M Premjit also express gratitude to Reena Serto for donating her blood.
