Senapati, August 16 2025: Two drug peddlers were arrested and heroin powder weighing 2.066 Kg was seized from their possession by security forces at T Khullen yesterday.

The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Jenarul Mia (21), son of Janjali Mia of Shasani, Maldah district, West Bengal and Deba Das (18), son of Lakshi Das of Ward No 2 Bokajan Bazar, Karbi Anglong district, Assam.

They were riding a TVS Apache vehicle bearing Assam number when they were stopped by a combined team of Special Operations Team (SOT) Senapati PS, D-78 CRPF and B-109 CRPF at the T Khullen checkpoint at around 7.30 am yesterday.

They were travelling toward Senapati from Imphal.

During checking, the security forces found the contraband items hidden in a space beside the oil tank of the motorbike.

The two peddlers were arrested and the heroin powder was seized in presence of an Executive Magistrate.

Beside the drugs, the Senapati police have seized two mobile phones and the motorbike.

The Senapati police have registered a case for further investigation.
