Imphal, October 14 2026: Around 400 NCC cadets of 1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC, participating in the ongoing Water Adventure Camp-cum-Annual Training Camp, conducted a cleanliness drive and community outreach programme at Karang Island, Moirang.

In association with the local club and residents, the cadets actively cleaned the surroundings and spread awareness about environmental conservation and the importance of maintaining cleanliness.

During the visit, the cadets interacted with local residents and visited two schools and a healthcare centre to understand the educational and healthcare facilities available on the island.

As a part of the educational outreach initiative, stationery items were distributed to students of a Primary school to encourage learning among young children.

The initiative received a warm response from the local community and strengthened the bond between the NCC and the island residents.

The programme reflects the broader objectives of the training camp, which aims to develop discipline, leadership, teamwork, environmental awareness and social responsibility among cadets.

The initiative also exemplifies the NCC motto, "Unity and Discipline," reinforcing the spirit of community service and Nation-building, said 1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC .
