Senapati, August 14 2024: To facilitate smooth governance and equitable development in the hill areas of Manipur, LK Kasaso Laii, former vice chairman, ADC Senapati has appealed for swift conduct of elections for the Village Authorities Council and Manipur Hills Autonomous District Council.

A representation bearing the signature of LK Kasaso Laii has pointed out that ADC elections have not been conducted since 2020.Appointing caretaker chairman for the ADC Office will not do the people any good, added LK Kasaso Laii.

He further said that official elections have not been held for the Village Authorities Council and the local governing unit continues to function unofficially.

In order to bring equal development in the hill areas and the valley, the former vice chairman of ADC Senapati has appealed for swift conduct of elections for the aforementioned bodies and sanctioning of adequate developmental funds.
