Meritorious students felicitated at Thoubal, Khoijuman and Leimapokpam

Thoubal/Bishnupur, June 14 2026: Several organisations across Thoubal and Bishnupur districts organised felicitation ceremonies on Saturday to honour meritorious students who excelled in the Class X and XII examinations conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE .

The annual 8th Felicitation Ceremony for meritorious students from the 18 wards under Thoubal Municipal Council (TMC) was held at Sai Mandir, Thoubal Wangmataba under the aegis of the Akoijam Bhubon Family Ningshing Mana (ABFANIM) Organising Committee.

The programme was attended by retired Professor of Manipur University Dr K Sarat as chief guest, retired ZEO Zone-III Thoubal AK Norendra as functional president and retired Headmaster B Kumar Sharma as guest of honour.

During the ceremony, the prestigious Ak Bhubon Ningshing Mana was awarded to Pushpanjali Ningombam of Brilliant Academy, Thoubal Melaground, along with a cash prize of Rs 7,000 and a certificate.

Kh Mangalsana Chanu of Brilliant Academy received the Ak Ibecha Ningshing Mana with a cash prize of Rs 6,000 and a certificate.

The Ak Lilabati Ningshing Mana was presented to Laiphrakpam Bhaktaraj of Peace and Freedom Academy, Haokha, along with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a certificate.

Similarly, Ak Nungshithoi Devi of Ananda Puma School received the Ak Biren Ningshing Mana, while Leitanthem Ambeshini Chanu of the same school was honoured with the Ak Binodini Ningshing Mana.

Kh Raybirth Meitei of Nawa Sindam Sang, Thoubal, was presented the Ak Manglembi Ningshing Mana along with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a certificate.

Meanwhile, the Apunba Chaokhat Lup in association with the Employees Group of Khoijuman organised a felicitation ceremony at Ibudhou Yangoiningthou Community Hall to honour meritorious students of Khoijuman village.

The programme was attended by Khoijuman Kwa Siphai GP Ward No 4 Panchayat Member Th Kumar, Apunba Chaokhat Lup president S Open.

Ward No 3 member T Bimol, Ward No 1 member Kh Pishakmacha, Ward No 2 member Kh Romesh and Ward No 5 member Ng Tomba as presidium members.

A total of 29 students from the locality who secured outstanding marks in the Class X and XII examinations were felicitated with cash awards, mementoes and certificates in recognition of their academic achievements.

In another event, the Bright Educational Career Association (BECA) organised its 11th Meritorious Award Distribution Ceremony at Leimapokpam Khongnangcha Karak Community Hall to honour meritorious students of Leimapokpam Gram Panchayat under Nambol Assembly Constituency.

Former Minister Nameirakpam Loken Singh attended the function as chief guest, while Wangoi Higher Secondary School Vice-Principal Naorem Loken presided over the programme.

Former Leimapokpam Zilla Parishad member Leimapokpam Jiten Meitei and social worker Thiyam Pakchao Singh attended as guests of honour.

During the programme, four students who excelled in the Class X and XU examinations conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE were honoured with cash awards, mementoes and certificates.

As part of the event certified Corporate Trainer and Director of PeeDeeLab Ryna Ngangom and Dr Devarani Devi Ningombam, Assistant Professor at NIT Patna, delivered motivational and career-guidance sessions.

The resource persons provided detailed insights on career planning, subject selection, higher education opportunities, emerging career options, and the growing significance and applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), encouraging students to make informed decisions for their future.
