Imphal, October 13 2026:
Nibiaa Devices Private Limited, an Imphal-based satellite IoT and AI startup, returned from India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, held from October 7 to 10 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, with two major achievements: a National innovation award and a strategic partnership with a leading private space company.
Selected by Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOE) India on behalf of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, Government of India, Nibiaa showcased its technology in the Non-Ter-restrial Networks (NTN) category at the Asia's largest telecom and technology event.
At the India Mobile Congress 2026, Nibiaa Devices won the ASPIRE NextGen Startup Innovation Award 2026, presented through IMC's flagship startup platform with support from TCOE India, the Department of Telecommunications, COAI and TiE Delhi-NCR .
The award recognised its satellite-connected IoT devices, which enable connectivity and real-time tracking in remote villages, farms and border regions beyond conventional mobile network coverage.
Dr Aeroshil Nameirakpam, founder and CEO of Nibiaa Devices, described the achievement as validation for deep-tech innovation emerging from remote cities such as Imphal, Dimapur, Agartala and Itanagar, emphasising that connecting farms in Manipur to low-Earth-orbit satellites exemplifies the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Nibiaa Devices also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sanyark Space, a Hyderabad-based company founded by former ISRO scientists, to develop next-generation ground trackers and receivers for its planned low-Earth-orbit NAV-COM satellite constellation, which aims to combine centimetrelevel positioning with secure 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) Connectivity alongside India's NavIC system.
