SP Kakching joins ADAM's plantation campaign

Kakching, June 13 2026: In a show of solidarity with the "U-wa Tharasi, U-wa Hinghalasi" campaign initiated by ADAM, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kakching, Priyadarshini Laishram participated in a tree plantation programme and planted a sapling of the indigenous Uningthou tree today.

The programme began early in the morning with volunteers conditioning and maintaining the saplings that had been planted at Kakching Makha School Ground on June 8.Protective fencing was also installed around the saplings to ensure their proper growth and protection.

Joining the initiative, SP Priyadarshi Laishram personally took part in the programme and planted a Uningthou sapling as a gesture of support for environmental conservation efforts.

During the event, ADAM secretary Surjit Kshetrimayum announced that he would adopt the sapling planted by the SP as part of the organisation's Tree Adoption campaign.

As part of the initiative, he also handed over a Uningthou sapling to the SP.

The programme was also attended by retired Deputy Director of Horticulture and Soil Conservation Ksh Nabakishwar, Headmaster of Kakching Makha High School Naorem Robi, Friendship Sporting Club president and solo tree planter Inaosana Pukhrambam, along with residents of the locality.
