HSE 2024 success rate breaks CoHSEM record

Imphal, May 13 2024:
The result of the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) 2024 conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (CoHSEM) was announced on Monday in a programme held at the Council's auditorium, Babupara, here.
Out of 31,128 students who appeared the exam, 30,391 scaled the annual test, achieving a pass rate of 97.63 percent, the highest in CoHSEM's history.
In the Science stream, Comet School's Malemnganbi Laishram d/o L Romen and L Jugarani of Khurai Sajor Leikai secured the top position with 493 marks followed by Yumnam Khenika Devi d/o Y Kumar and Th Aruna of Khamram Awang Leikai, also of the same school, in second position (491) and Pinewood School's Mayanglambam Sania Devi d/o M Gouranityai Singh and M Shyama Devi of Kakching Paji Leikai in third position with a total score of 488 marks.
In the Arts Stream, Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School, Sangakpham's Thokchom Sheityajit s/o Th Nobochand and Karam Reena of Kongpal Kongkham Leikai topped the exam with a score of 477 marks as the second position was shared by Khaidem Niranda Devi s/o Kh Naobi and Kh Binodini of Maibakhul Mayai Leikai, of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School and TG Higher Secondary School's Sapam Langlel Chanu d/o S Dorendro Meitei and S Prema Leima of Sapam Mamang Leikai, Thoubal district, each scoring 474 marks.
Another student from Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School namely Jenita Longjam d/o L Ningthemmani Singh and Naorem Anita of Mayang Imphal Thana Anilongbi secured the third position (472 marks) .
The Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School excelled in the Arts Stream with maximum number of position holders.
In the Commerce stream, the first position was secured by Kakching Higher Secondary School's Aiena Naorem, d/o N Biren and N Ibemchou Devi of Kakching Ningthou Leikai by securing a total of 447 marks with the second bagged by TG Higher Secondary School's Kethallina Maisnam d/o M Phirappa Singh and S Ranjita of Sagolband Bijoy Govinda, with a total score of 438 marks while SDJM Higher Secondary School's Longjam Aman Singh s/o L Nishikanta and L Rashitombi of Sagolband Tera Bazar, came in third position with a total of 428 marks.
With a total of 30,391 clearing the exam out of 31,128 students who appeared the examination, the pass percentage has been recorded at 97.63 percent, the best-ever showing in CoHSEM-conducted examination so far.
The pass percentage of students of government colleges and higher secondary schools was 95.49 per cent while for private institutions it was 98.18 per cent.
District-wise, Thoubal achieved highest pass percentage of 99.58 per cent whereas Ukhrul student fared ordinarily with only 85.95 per cent tasting success.
The result declaration function was attended by Education (S) director L Nandakumar and CoHSEM chairman T Ojit as chief guest and president respectively while CoHSEM secretary Kh Ashikumar, controller of examinations O Joy and Education (S) additional director (Valley) Bisheshwar Khumukcham were present as guests of honour.
