Imphal, May 12 2026:
The All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has drawn the Government's attention on the widespread mushrooming of schools in Manipur and the introduction of Class XI and XII in colleges, allegedly in contravention of University Grants Commission (UGC) rules and regulations.
In a press release, AMRPSWA said that the "unregulated" establishment of numerous educational institutions, with or without Government approval, is unfortunate.
The mushrooming of many schools without adequate infrastructure and the suitable environment should be investigated, maintained AMRPSWA.
On another note, AMRPSWA said some colleges, which are meant for higher studies, have started introducing Class XI and XII, reportedly flouting UGC guidelines.
In view of such harmful trends, AMRPSWA has urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter.
