Imphal, April 12 2025: Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh president M Tombi has lambasted the President's Rule prevailing in the State as "toothless" and "sightless" .

He made the remark during a press conference held today at the party office located at Babupara.

Speaking to media persons, M Tombi said that the failing to form a popular Government despite having the majority share of MLAs is akin to violating people's rights.

Alleging that the two-month old President's Rule of failing to take up tangible steps to bring peace and normalcy in Manipur, he asserted that the public's mandate should be honoured and a new Government should be formed.

He also pointed out the Union Home Minister's failed free movement initiative at this juncture.

Saying that the Kuki militants did not surrender their weapons despite the Governor's appeal, he called it a direct challenge to the Governor's authority.

Adding to his grievances, he said that the Kuki community strongly opposed the visit of Supreme Court Judges recently and also physically assaulted the Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi but no actions have been initiated against such violations of the law, he said.
