Training programme concludes

Imphal, December 11 2025: A 7-Day Master Trainers' Training Programme on "Advanced Soil Testing for Promoting Sustainable Soil Health Management and Agricultural Productivity" concluded yesterday at College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.

The training programme was organised by All India Coordinated Research Project on Micro- and Secondary Nutrients and Pollutant Elements in Soils & Plants (AICRP-MSPE), CAU, Imphal Centre.

The training was strategically designed to promote sustainable soil health management, improve agricultural productivity, technology integration and farmer empowerment.

A dedicated cohort of 19 key participants, including SMS, STO, and FM personnel from various KVKs (Bishnupur, Imphal East, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Imphal West), along with officials AO, AAO, HDO from the State Horticulture and VEW/ FA from State Agriculture Department actively participated in the programme.

During the seven days long programme, eminent experts from ICAR-IISS, Bhopal, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad, AAU, Jorhat BCKV, West Bengal, CPGS, CAU, Umiam and CAU, Imphal delivered lectures on various topics.

Hands-on practical on soil testing was also conducted.

The programme successfully concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, graced by Prof Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction, CAU, Imphal (PI, AICRP-MSPE); Prof K Nandini Devi, Dean, COA, CAU, Imphal and Dr N Surbala Devi, Associate Professor (Co-PI, AICRP-MSPE) .
