Tree Plantation drive held across the State

Spt/Cdl/CCp/Phz/Tml/Tbl/Ukl, March 11 2021: In continuation of a week-long observation of 4 years citizen centric governance under "Emerging Manipur," mass tree plantation drive was organised today across all the district headquarters, subdivision headquarters and towns in the State" .

SENAPATI
The District Administration Senapati organised a mass 'Tree Plantation drive' as a part of the ongoing celebration today at Taphou Naga, near SKABU Prayer Centre, Senapati District HQ.

Addressing the gathering, D John Sha, MFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Senapati highlighted the importance of forest to human beings and stated that economic growth of humans have continuously affected the forests and environment radically, leading to degradation of the environment.

S Lohrii Mao, Executive Engineer, PHED, Senapati in his speech reiterated the various achievements in the district during the last 4 years of governance.

During the drive, around 60 saplings of trees were planted at Mini Secretariat complex and District Court complex.

Similar programmes were also conducted in all the Block Headquarters under the supervision of SDO/ BDO, Hospitals and Public Offices, villages, Schools and colleges and Anganwadi centres.

CHANDEL
As part of the celebration of 'Emerging Manipur,' a tree plantation drive was also carried out at different locations in Chandel district today.

The officials of District Administration Chandel planted tree saplings in the DC complex Chandel and SP chandel along with his officials also planted saplings around the police headquarters.

CMO Chandel, DFO Chandel and staff of District Health Department, PHC Komlathabi, District Hospital Chandel, PHED Chandel also planted tree sapling at their respective office premises.

Under ZEO Chandel, tree plantation drives were carried out in Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School, Liwa Chajing High School and United College.

Likewise, under ICDS, saplings were planted in all the anganwadi centres of the district.

CHURACHANDPUR
The Churachandpur District Administration also organised a tree plantation drive today through District Level Officers and Sub-Divisional Officers under active monitoring by Additional DC and overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner as a part of the 4 years of Citizen Centric Governance celebration.

Staff of ADCC planted tree saplings along the Mary Kom Ring Road while the DC Office staff planted saplings at Mini-Secretariat campus.

The District Police planted saplings at Peace Ground while the Forest Department, other DLOs and SDOs within their respective jurisdictions.

Moreover, a campaign regarding village health and nutrition, Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and Covid vaccination awareness will be held tomorrow at DTC Hall, DC Office, Tuibong.

As a part of the programme, different stalls will be opened by the Medical Department where free oral cancer screening, blood sugar /BP testing and CMHT & PMJAY enrolment shall be done.

PHERZAWL
Pherzawl District Administration carried out different activities in the District as pre-event for celebrating the four years of the State Government.

Deputy Commissioner, Mannuamching and DFO, Pherzawl led the tree plantation programme inside the DC Complex and Community Hall premises at Pherzawl DHQ today.

Later, a skill development awareness campaign was organised by NRLM and SRLM at Pherzawl Community hall.

The Deputy Commissioner along with DFO, Pherzawl and Range Officer, Tipaimukh also inspected Nursery and tree plantation under CAMPA at Lawibual village.

Likewise, at Thanlon Subdivisional headquarters, a mass tree plantation was carried out by Range Officer, Thanlon; ZEO Pherzawl staff and personnel of 34 Assam Rifles.

Mass tree plantation drive was also carried out by Pherzawl Forest Division, Thanlon VA, 34 AR, Police Department, Medical Department at the edges of Thanlon public playground, SDO office complex, PHC, Range Forest Office, Thanlon.

THOUBAL
Tree plantation drive was also organised by the District Administration, Thoubal and District Forest Office, Thoubal.

The mass tree plantation was carried out by District Level officers under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, N Bandana Devi.

She planted tree sapling inside the premises of the DC office to mark the occasion.

Staff of various departments also planted tree saplings in their respective office premises.

Tree plantation was also conducted at Thoubal District police headquarters.

It was participated by officers and personnel of District police led by SP, Thoubal.

Under the supervision of ZEO, Thoubal, tree saplings were also planted in the school compounds.

NYK Thoubal along with local clubs and organizations also took part in the tree plantation.

TAMENGLONG
Tree plantation drive was also held today at Mini Secretariat Complex, Tamenglong.

DC Tamenglong, Armstrong Pame, IAS; SP Tamenglong, Sandip Gopaldas Mohurle, IPS and DFO Tamenglong, Kh Hitler Singh, MFS jointly planted a sapling to mark the occasion.

District Level Officers of the district and students of Eklavya Model Residential School Tamenglong took part in the drive.

UKHRUL
As a part of the 4 years completion celebration, Ukhrul Autonomous District Council (UADC) conducted various activities as pre events, which included cleaning the town peripheries, tree plantation, erections of holding and billboard, etc.

Ukhrul CEO, Polly Makan briefed Ukhrul media about the ongoing preparation in Ukhrul district.

She mentioned that a cleanliness drive was held today in collaboration with THYSO youth at the District Council dumping site Hungpung, Ukhrul.

Trees were planted in all the surrounding areas of the dumping site.

The programmes will culminate on March 15 at Mini Secretariat complex, Ukhrul.

Likewise, as a part of the tree plantation drive held across the State, the Brand Ambassador of Chief Minister's Green Manipur Mission, Valentina Elangbam along with the students of Sekmaijin High School, Sekmaijin also planted tree saplings inside the school's campus today.
