The upcoming visit of BJP's BL Santhosh and Sambit Patra to Manipur points to a potential formation of a popular Government, former Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said.
The former CM was attending the Epan Thaba ceremony of a boy born to an internally displaced woman staying at the Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel relief camp.
The saffron party's National general secretary (org), BL Santhosh and its North-East in-charge Sambit Patra are scheduled to visit Manipur on November 12 .
"It will not be a simple visit.
It has all the indication of a positive step towards the formation of a popular Government," Biren said, speaking to media persons at a ritual held at the BJP-run relief camp for expecting mothers at Khuman Lampak.
196 expecting mothers have given birth to 201 children while staying at the relief camp.
The 201 children include 102 females and 99 males.
The 196 women who have given birth to children at the camp include 66 from Bishnupur district, 45 from Imphal East district, 28 from Kakching district, 27 from Churachandpur, 13 from Imphal West, 10 from Tengnoupal, 5 from Kangpokpi and one each from Chandel and Thoubal district.
