Raas Leela likely to be performed in South Korea, Japan

Manipur's Raas Leela may be performed in South Korea and Japan in the coming months, said Art & Culture Minister Kh Loken today.
He said this while attending "Khongul Liklam" - a dance programme at the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipuri Dance Academy today.
Speaking at the event, Loken underscored the significance of Manipuri art and culture, and stressed the importance of preserving it.
Manipur, he said, is recognised worldwide due to its rich art and culture, and informed that the State has received invitations from the Governments of South Korea and Japan to perform Raas Leela in their countries.
The Raas Leela in South Korea may be performed in November, he added.
At the event, renowned Manipuri Jagoi Gurus performed Gouranga Roop Vaman and Duti Sambat, Krishna Vandana and Bhagyachandra, Neela Kamala Dala Shyam and Vasakasajja, Krishna Leela and Krishna Roop, Nagori Ukti etc .
The programme was organised by the academy's students, Naophangba and Sapana.
Jawaharlal Nehru Manipuri Dance Academy Director Pukhrambam Bilash and Progressive Artistes Laboratory Director N Tiken attended the event.
