Har Char Tiranga campaign gains momentum in Kakching, Churachandpur

Kakching/Churachandpur, August 10 2026: The Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) Campaign 2026 has commenced across Kakching and Churachandpur districts, with educational institutions, government departments and the public participating in a series of activities to mark the country's 80th Independence Day.

In Kakching, the campaign was observed at various educational institutions with active participation firm students, teachers and staff.

The activities were organised by the Zonal Education Office, Kakching, in collaboration with the respective schools under the overall supervision of the District Administration.

As part of the campaign, students participated in Tiranga-themed activities and displayed the National Flag to spread the message of HGT and encourage people to proudly hoist the Tricolour.

The campaign was held at Serou Manipuri Upper Primary School, Kakching Valley School Berean Grace Academy, Chirag English School, Sora, Pallel Junior High School, Pole Star School, Wabagai, JRD Pathseekers Academy, Kakching, Practising Junior High School, DIET Kakching, Irengband Upper Primary School, PM Shri Sugnu Higher Secondary School, Wangoo Sabal Upper Primary School Kakching High School, Keirak Primary Madrassa, Kakching Model High School and Kakching Wairi Junior High School among other institutions.

The HGT campaign was also organised at Government Industrial Training Institute (TH), Kakching Wairi.

Meanwhile, a drawing competition was organised at Thambal Children Home for Girls, Arong Khunou, on August 9 as the opening event of the campaign.

The programme was held under the supervision of the District Administration, Kakching, in coordination with the Directorate of Social Welfare.

Manipur, District Child Protection Unit Kakching, and Child Care Institutions, Kakching.

A total of 35 children participated in the competition.

In Churachandpur, the campaign commenced today with Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar calling upon citizens to actively participate in the nationwide initiative.

Addressing the public, the DC said the National Flag was much more than a piece of cloth, symbolising the hopes, aspirations and sacrifices of millions who fought for India's freedom.

He urged households, institutions and organisations to hoist the Tiranga with dignity and in accordance with the Flag Code of India.

Emphasising that HGT was intended to be a people's movement rather than merely a Government programme, Krishna Kumar said the District Administration had coordinated with government departments, educational institutions, village authorities and community organisations to organise various activities across the district.

Exhibitions on the Tiranga and Vande Mataram are being organised at schools, colleges, villages and marketplaces, while Tiranga rallies involving students, youths, police personnel and members of the public are being held across the district Cycle and bike rallies, illumination of government buildings and Tiranga-themed rangolis at schools, markets and public places are also being organised as part of the campaign.

National Flags are being distributed to households, with citizens encouraged to participate in the "Selfie with Tiranga" initiative through the official portal www.harghartiranga.com.

Krishna Kumar appealed particularly to youths to act as ambassadors of the campaign and use their creativity and energy to inspire wider participation through rallies, cultural programmes and social media activities.
