Manipuri Poets' meet held at Guwahati

Imphal, June 10 2025: Kamrup District Committee, Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Assam in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi organised Manipuri Poets' Meet today at Hotel Shirui Classic, Guwahati.

The event was attended by Professor Rajen Toijamba, convenor Manipuri Language Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi as chief guest and Col Gokul Chandra Singh (Retd), president Kamrup District Committee, Manipur Sahitya Parishad Assam as functional president.

At the event, several poets including, Dr Phuritsabam Birmani Singh, Dr Hidam Dolen, Keisham Hemchandra Singh, Laishram Loidamtombi, Tamikanta Singh, Maisnam Bhagat Singh, Naorem Amuthoiba Singh, Ng Bijaya Keisham and Thounaojam Shyam Singh read out their poems.

Later a poetry recitation competition was also held moderated by Dr Phuritsabam Birmani, president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Assam.
