Imphal, October 09 2025:
The family of 12-year-old Khusi Sanjenbam from Kwakeithel Moirang Purel, who passed away after being admitted to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on May 27, 2025, has condemned a recent hospital report denying any medical negligence in her treatment.
The family, in a letter, described the report of an internal committee of RIMS as "one-sided and prejudiced" .
Apart from lodging multiple complaints to Manipur Medical Council (MMC), the grieving family said that they have been urging the Prime Minister, Union Health Minister, National Medical Commission, and Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to inquire the circumstances surrounding the young girl's death transparently.
The family stated that RIMS' attempt to deflect accountability by publishing a one-sided report constitutes a violation of human rights.
