RIMS holds Swachhta health camp at Makhan

Imphal, August 09 2026:
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised a Swachhta Health Camp at Makhan village in Kangpokpi district on Sunday as part of the Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) 2026-27 .
RIMS Imphal in a statement said that the camp was organised in collaboration with Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi, Manipur, with doctors and healthcare professionals from various departments of RIMS providing medical consultations, health assessments and treatment to villagers.
Specialists and medical personnel from the Departments of Physiology, Ophthalmology, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics and Cardiology, along with Nursing Officers, attended to the patients.
Patients were provided medical advice and treatment, while free medicines were also distributed as prescribed by the attending doctors.
A total of 218 beneficiaries availed themselves of the healthcare services during the camp.
The initiative highlighted RIMS's commitment to extending healthcare services beyond the hospital setting and reaching communities in need.
Such outreach programmes under the Swachhta Action Plan also aim to promote health, hygiene, preventive healthcare and community well-being.
The collaborative efforts of RIMS and Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi contributed to the successful conduct of the camp, making essential healthcare services accessible to people of Makhan village and surrounding areas.
