E-Pao Tengbang Lup marks 9th Foundation Day with awards, meritorious honours

Imphal, July 09 2026: E-Pao Tengbang Lup, Manipur observed its 9th Foundation Day today at Saraswati Institute of Management and Para Medical Science, Pangei, and honoured journalists for their contribution in disseminating factual news in the present crisis.

Ichel News Network reporter Naorem Tanoranjan was conferred the 'E-Pao Journalist Award, 2026' for his role in providing accurate information to the public.

Hueiyen Lanpao reporter Ningthoujam Hemchand was also honoured with the award for his coverage in the field of art and culture.

Speaking at the event, E-Pao Tengbang Lup joint secretary Pechimayum Ranjan said journalists bear a huge responsibility.

"To encourage accurate reporting, we are conferring this award to Tanoranjan of Ichel News and Hemchand of Hueiyen Lanpao", he said, adding that the Lup will continue to recognise such work in the future.

The Lup also presented Meritorious Awards to Class XII subject toppers in Music, Thang-Ta, and MIL (Manipuri) in the COHSEM examination this year.

NHM Manipur State Blood Cell Nodal Officer Dr L Dayalaxmi attended as chief guest.

E-Pao Tengbang Lup working president Soibam Pibarel presided over the function.

Retired Income Tax officer Laishram Ramcharan, JNIMS Blood Centre Senior Medical officer Dr K Surjit, St Stephen Higher Secondary School management committee secretary P Inaobi and HERICOUN secretary general Aheibam Anand also attended the event.
