THE ALL Manipur State Employees Council (AMSEC) today has submitted a representation to the state chief minister demanding among other upward revision and re-fixation of the minimum wage at Rs.150 for unskilled workers and Rs 180 for skilled workers among others.
While stating that the council is looking forward to new hope for handsome kit of monetary benefit not below the level set by the recommendations of the sixth pay commission, the representation said that the upward revision of the remuneration and other welfare packages is necessarily the counteracting measure to the overriding challenge in the fluctuating fortune of the economy such a inflation and financial crisis.
The council is proud of the two facts that the state finance has been consistently maintaining the revenue surplus, a good sign of healthy fiscal management and the pro-active steps taken by the state government in connection with the thirteen finance commission, the statement said observing that as such the government will not face any hurdle on the way while implementing the recommendation of the sixth pay commission.
The AMSEC while seeking introduction of separate cadre services in the Manipur Police Services, Manipur Health Services, Manipur Education services, Manipur Engineering Services, Manipur Financial Services, Manipur Judicial Services etc.
the representation said that the common principal of service rules cannot deliver goods in the typically variety of administration.
AMSEC feels that the objectives of the sixth pay commission cannot be achieved without a new work-culture of professionalism ad added responsibility, it said.
