Imphal, October 08 2022: The Court of Special Judge NIA Manipur on Friday reserved charge order against Narengbam Samarjit and 4 others in connection with a charge sheet submitted against them by National Investigative Agency (NIA) till October 19 .

The charge order was kept on reserve after Special PP NIA and counsels of the accused persons submitted their argument on specific points in connection with the charges levelled against them.

NIA in compliance with the Ministry of Home Affairs order dated November 19, 2019, registered a case, out of FIR registered at Lamphel Police Station against Narengbam Samarjit and Yambem Biren who allegedly announced separation of the State of Manipur from India and formation of Manipur State council from London on October 29, 2019 .

They also declared N Samarjit as "External Affairs and Defence Minister and Yambem Biren as Chief Minister of Manipur State Council" .
