DEO Senapati holds consultation with CSOs on SIR

The District Election Officer (DEO), Senapati, on Monday conducted an orientation programme and consultative meeting with civil society organisations (CSOs) of the district regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 at the DC Conference Hall, Block-A, Mini Secretariat, Senapati.
The programme aimed to encourage active participation of stakeholders in the SIR 2026 exercise by familiarising them with key procedures, including the filling up of Enumeration Forms, submission of required documents, rationalisation of polling stations, filing and disposal of claims and objections, and the use of digital tools such as the Aadhaar-based e-sign facility.

Welcoming the participants, Dharun Kumar S, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, elaborated on the significance of the ongoing electoral revision process.
Stressing the importance of ensuring an accurate and inclusive electoral roll, he urged stakeholders to carry out awareness campaigns even in the remotest parts of the district so that no eligible voter is left out of the enumeration process.
The DEO also appealed to civil society organisations to work closely with their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), noting that community participation and cooperation are crucial for the successful implementation of SIR 2026 .
The meeting was attended by S Lunguiba Thangal, ERO of 47-Karong (ST) AC; Rang David Kung, ERO of 48-Mao (ST) AC; Pf Lophro, ERO of 49-Tadubi (ST) AC; Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), election officials, and representatives of various civil society organisations.
