Imphal, December 07 2010: Amina (not real name) who had eloped with her lover and with whom she had had sexual relations was spurned by her partner after giving her ' 30,000 .

Amina who was pregnant when she eloped was disgraced and disowned by her lover's family who alleged that she was a prostitute.

Apart from the ' 30,000, given by her lover's family, she has not received any kind of help and cooperation from her lover and his family.

They asked her to use the amount to abort the child.

Amina said that she had an affair with Md Ourman (20) s/o late Akbar Ali of Kwakta Awang Leikai.

She became pregnant following their intimatacy.

They eloped when she was one month pregnant.

Najima, mother of Ourman and his brother Md Apikpa handed her to local Meira Paibis alleging her to be a prostitute the day after the elopement.

Meira Paibis volunteers came to know of the real story and handed her back to her lover's family.

But she was thrown out of her lovers' house by a Pradhan who gave her ' 30,000 and advised her to use the money to abort her baby.

On hearing the news, her parents came to rescue her.

They scolded her for her careless behaviour.

Distraught with her life she tried to commit suicide.

Local people saved her from taking her own life.

After reporting the incident to a Meira Paibi Organisation Md Apikpa came with some associates and mocked that the baby was his child.

He also accused her of being a prostitute.

She has been knocking on the doors of different Meira Paibi Organisations and Manipur State Commission for Women since the baby became one month old.

The baby has been born but she has not been able to get help from anybody.
