Imphal, September 07 2025: The Yaipha Thouni Thouram (blessing ceremony) of Sanaleipak Nachom Artist's new shumang leela "Punshi Mathel" and "Ee Paklaba Gupal" was held at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Sanglen in Palace Compound today.

The ceremony was graced by Manipur State Kala Akademi awardee and Manipur State Shumang Leela Council lifetime president Ph Gunachandra Sharma and Manipur State Shumang Leela Council president Laishram Tomba as dignitaries.

The two shumang leela "Punshi Mathel" and "Ee Paklaba Gupal" are written by Ranjit Ningthouja and directed by Sougrakpam Hemanta.

Oinam Prafullochandra, Sougrakpam Hemanta, Yumnam Nillachandra, Boby Khundrakpam, Dayananda, Tompok, James and Dholmani play key roles in the two plays.

Similarly, a blessing ceremony of Lamjingba Artist Association Manipur's new shumang leela "Khongul Leeba" was held at the association's premises in Nambul Turel Mapal today.

"Khongul Leeba" is written by Arunkumar Laishram and directed by Irabot Macha.

Boy Langthabal, Irabot Macha, Hemlet, Soniboy, Bobo, Purnanand, Boy Langthabal, Santhoi Thokchom and Sadananda are cast members in the play.

Moreover, Peace Maker Artistes' Association also organised a blessing ceremony for its new shumang leela "Thokpa Ngamdaba Kishi" at its premises in 'Akampat yesterday.

The play is written by Manaobi MM with Lai Ibotombi, Sorokhaibam Ibohanbi, Naorem Tamphasana, Yumnam Arunkumar, Athokpam Santosh, Sarangthem Henary, Ksh Ronaldo, Yumnam Milan, Huirem Bishesh, Senjam Dipson and Wangkhem Sanathoi as cast members.
