Meritorious students, achievers felicitated

Imphal, June 07 2026:
Three separate functions were held in Imphal to honour meritorious students and sportspersons for their academic and sporting achievements.
The 1st India Reserve Battalion (IRB) organised a felicitation programme at its Rear Headquarters in Kangla to encourage high-scoring students of Class X and Class XII exams conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM, and CBSE .
A total of 25 students, all children of 1st IRB personnel, were felicitated.
Speaking at the event, Assistant Commandant Kh Ingo Singh, in-charge of 1st IRB Kangla Rear HQ, said the programme was held under the guidance of the Commandant, 1st IRB.
He added that a similar function was recently organised by the CO at 1st IRB Churachandpur, where 87 students received awards.
Kh Ingo Singh noted that the initiative aims to motivate children to work harder and prepare them to compete in today's competitive world, enabling them to become responsible citizens.
Separately, the Nepram Sagei Apokpa Thougal Lup held a felicitation ceremony at Tera Sayang Lerak to honour outstanding achievers in academics and sports.
The function was presided over by Lup president Nepram Ibouchouba.
Nepram Bhavna was felicitated as the Class XII achiever and presented the Nepram Kunja Memorial Prize, while Osin Chanu Nepram received the Varun Nepram Memorial Prize as the Class X achiever.
A special prize was awarded to Koubru Nepram for excellence in fencing, including medals won at the national level.
The programme concluded with prize distribution and blessings from elders.
Moreover, Nongin Institute of Tutorials (NIT) felicitated its students who cleared this year's Class X and Class XII examinations conducted by BOSEM & COHSEM.
The programme, held at the institute's hall in Konung Mamang, was attended by social activist Uttam Ningthoujam, Wahengbam Rojit, Joint Director of Minority Affairs Md Salaudin Khan, and NIT founder Toijam Suresh as presidium members.
