Manipur students shine at Skill India Competition

Two students from Manipur have won medals at the Skills India Competition 2023-24 held from May 14-19, 2024 and May 28-29, 2024 in New Delhi.
According to a release issued by Manipur Society for Skill Development, the Skill India Competition 2023-24 conducted under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, provided a platform for participants not only to demonstrate their skills but also to network with industry experts, mentors, and potential employers.
The competition aimed to showcase remarkable talent and innovation in various vocational domains among the youth of India.
For this skill competition, the Manipur Society for Skill Development, Manipur, conducted necessary level competitions and nominated participants for three trades- Bakery, Electrical Installations, and Hotel Reception.
In the competition, Aldisona Ngagom, daughter of Tombibabu Ngangom and Sanatombi Yanglem from Keikol Mamang Leikai, Imphal East, won the gold medal in Bakery while Wahengbam Premchand Luwang, son of Wahengbam Khilli Singh from Terakhongshangbi Mamang Leikai, Bishnupur, won the medal in the Electrical Installations category.
Besides, the participants and winners, along with the officials of the Manipur Society for Skill Development, also paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur, who congratulated them for their momentous success and wished them further successes in their future endeavours.
