3-day Eco-Tourism training concludes in Chandel

Chandel, May 07 2026:
A three-day training programme on "Hospitality, Tourist Guide and Nature Guide Management" organised under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme concluded today at Lamphou Pasana Hall in Chandel district.
The training programme was organised by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Chandel, with the objective of promoting the eco-tourism sector in Manipur.
The valedictory function was attended by Dr N Munal Meitei, DFO, Chandel as chief guest; Th Bijoy Singh, General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC), Chandel as president; while Earlis Dilbung, Chief Trainer, and N Deepa, RFO Chandel, attended as guests of honour.
Speaking at the function, Dr N Munal Meitei said that no country can achieve development without industries and stressed the important role of educated youths in strengthening the industrial sector.
He stated that under the RAMP scheme, training on six different eco-tourism related trade had been conducted in Chandel district and expressed confidence that nearly 400 youths would be able to generate selfemployment opportunities through the initiative.
He further said that the objective of the training programme was not limited to self-employment alone, but also aimed at encouraging participants to become entrepreneurs capable of creating jobs for others.
Th Bijoy, General Manager of DIC Chandel, assured that the department would extend necessary support to trainees who wish to start ventures in suitable trades after completing the training programme.
He also appealed to the public to develop the habit of repaying loans responsibly and work collectively towards transforming Chandel into a progressive district.
