Sit-in staged against transfer of DC Bishnupur

Bishnupur, May 07 2025: Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) taking shelter at various relief camps of Bishnupur district staged a sit-in protest today against the transfer of Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, L Bikram.

The sit-in protest was held at the relief camps of Sunushiphai Upper Primary School Relief Camp, Terakhongshangbi Relief Camp, Kwakta Sericulture Training Institute Pre Fabricated House and Bishnupur DC Complex Relief Camp.

During the protest placards with inscriptions such as "We condemn transfer of DC Bishnupur," "Stay transfer order of DC," "Government must understand the plight of IDPs", "Make necessary arrangement for IDPs to return to their original homes," "Bring an end to the Violence", etc were used by the protesters.

During the protest, the IDPs appealed to the Government to immediately revoke the transfer order of DC Bishnupur in the interest of the people.
