DM College of Science celebrates 80th Foundation Day

Imphal, August 06 2026: The 80th Foundation Day of DM College of Science, Imphal was observed at the college's Central Hall in Imphal.

Former Head of Department of Statistics, DM College of Science, A Brajakumar Sharma attended as chief guest, former Principal of DM College of Commerce, Dr O Kumar Singh as guest of honour, and Principal of DM College of Science, Prof Ksh Birbal Singh as president of the function.

The Principal, along with others, paid floral tribute at the statue of Maharani Dhanamanjuri in the college campus.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Ksh Birbal said DM College of Science was established in 1946 and has now completed 80 years.

Principals and teachers of different periods have been observing the foundation day to uphold the legacy, he said.

The college, earlier a 3-year undergraduate institution with 6 semesters, now runs 4-year programmes with 8 semesters.

Of its 14 departments, 11 offer PG courses, he said.

He noted infrastructural gaps and shortage of teachers, but expressed hope that teachers' dedication would further the college's growth.
