Imphal, June 05 2009: The Tamei Headquarters Authority, Tamenglong district has expressed great concerned over the various delay of developmental works taken up in the sub-division including the irregularity and non-availability of sufficient medical facilities including doctors.

Calling on the state government and the concern to have a serious look into the matter, a press statement of the authority by its chairman, Ch.

Poujiang, stated the 33 KV line 5-year plan electricity was way over its year plan with no work being done till date.

The line to be brought from Kangpokpi in Sardar Hills of Senapati was still lying with no lines fixed.

The chairman also stated that though the water supply scheme under the non-lapsable central pool resource (NLCPR) has been inaugurated there was no water till date thus giving a hard time to the people of the Tamei sub-division due to water scarcity.

Poujiang also stated the condition of work on IT road under special assistant (SPA) along the Kangpokpi-Tamenglong via Tamei was just a 'polished' and not a real black topping.

There is no quality work done, hence it would last for only about a month or so, the chairman asserted.

Pointing out that despite the lack of work, about 50 percent of money for the work has been withdrawn by the concern, the Tamei HQ authority has called on the PWD minister for an immediate action and investigation into the condition of the work.

It also stated there was only one doctor in the sub-divisional PHC instead of the recommended three and lamented this was giving hard time to the people.

This combined with the lack of basic medical facilities and the irregularities of the doctors have caused much problem, stated the press statement informing atleast about 30 people died of malaria last year.

The authorities also asserted there was no ambulance in the sub-division despite being sanctioned by the government.

The authorities of the sub-division also alleged no help has come from the government for the victims of the cyclone that hit the area recently.

They informed atleast 30 (thirty) houses were severely damaged in the cyclone leaving many homeless.
