29th Manipur Integrity Day observed in Jiribam

Jiribam, August 04 2026:
The 29th Manipur Integrity Day, 2026 was observed at Hilghat Community Hall, Jiribam, today with a call for collective efforts towards peace, unity and protection of the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The programme was organised by the All Jiribam United Clubs' Association (AJUCA) and attended by AJUCA president M Maipaksana Mangang, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM) Jiri president Tahemang Panmei, JIMIT Lifetime president Ch Kamal Singh, All Manipur Muslim Organisations Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) Jiribam president Abdus Sattar, former Jiribam Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha Kh Janaki Devi, AJMP president S Sushila Chanu and Kamranga Khasi Club, Tousem, general secretary Shaniahlang Bkhr as presidium members.
The programme commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, followed by the welcome and keynote addresses.
A two-minute silence was also observed in honour of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the effort to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The dignitaries were also honoured by presenting Lengyan.
Speaking on the occasion, All Jiribam Meira Paibi (AJMP) president S Sushila Devi said that despite repeated calls for peace, people were still unable to freely access National Highway-37, while internally displaced persons (IDPs) continued to face difficulties in returning to their original homes.
RNCM Jiribam joint secretary Abou Gonmei called upon all concerned to guide the youth towards a positive path and work collectively for a progressive future.
He stressed the need for collective efforts to bring about progress and peace in the state.
