Kakching, April 04 2026: The proposed bandh of the road stretch from Wabagai Lamkhai to Sugnu State Highway from 6 am of April 6 has been suspended.

It is worth noting that the bandh was announced by the Lamkhai to Sugnu Road (State Highway) Development & Demand Committee (LSR-DDC) in protest against the sudden halting of repair/renovation work along the road stretch.

According to a press release issued by LSR-DDC, the decision to suspend the bandh was reached after conducting a survey wherein it was discovered that renovation work had begun from Thongjao side.

The Committee has also extended its appreciation to Hiyanglam AC MLA Y Radheshyam for sharing that a meeting was held with the concerned contractor and officials where it was agreed to complete the construction work before the arrival of the rainy season.

Additionally, under the supervision of Sugnu AC MLA K Ranjit, Wet Mix Macadam (WMM) has been laid on sections of the road stretch as part of the repair work.

It was further intimated to the Committee members that the construction work will progress swiftly from April 10 onwards.
