World Aids Day 2025 observed across State

As observed across the globe, World Aids Day was also observed in the State on Monday with the theme "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response" .
BISHNUPUR
District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee (DAPCC), Bishnupur today joined the global observance of World AIDS Day 2025 under the theme at the Conference Hall of Old Chief Medical Office, Bishnupur.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, highlighted that this year's theme emphasizes the need to address setbacks and strengthen the AIDS response through resilience, innovation, and sustained commitment.
She emphasized that human-rights-centered approaches, as advocated by the WHO, are essential to achieving the goal of ending AIDS by 2030 .
Pooja further stressed that World AIDS Day unites people across the globe to raise awareness about HIV/ AIDS and to show international solidarity.
She said the day provides an important opportunity to share information about the current situation of the pandemic and to promote progress in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care.
She added that World AIDS Day is now one of the most widely recognized global health observances, serving as a key moment to raise awareness, remember those who have lost their lives, and celebrate achievements such as improved access to treatment and prevention services.
Chief Medical Officer, Bishnupur Dr L Raichandra and District TB Officer, Bishnupur Dr S Brojen Singh also attended the observance of the World AIDS Day 2025 as distinguished guests.
THOUBAL
World Aids Day was also observed today at the Winner Trust Centre, Yairipok campus, organised by the Winner Trust Centre, Yairipok in collaboration with CHC & ICTC, Yairipok.
The event held under the theme "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response", was attended by MO in -charge of CHC Yairipok, Dr L Robinson Singh; ICTC (MACS) Counsellor M Meena Devi; and The Winner Trust Centre, Project Coordinator Sh Johev (Tokio) as presidium members.
As part of the event, ICTC (MACS) Counsellor M Meena Devi and The Winner Trust Centre, Yairipok, Project Coordinator Sh Johev delivered valuable insights on the topics of "HIV/AIDS Prevention & Support" and "Experience on Drug Treatment Related With HIV" as resource persons.
KAKCHING
World Aids Day was also observed today at the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), Kakching, in a programme organised by the Kha Manipur Yoga Nature Cure Association (KMYNCA), Kakching and Indian Red Cross (IRCS), Kakching.
The event held under the theme "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response", was attended by Chief Functionary of Kha Manipur Yoga and Nature Cure Association, Kakching, Dr Mayanglambam Rajkumar, vice chairman of IRCS, Kakching Branch, N Debendro; and Treasurer Sh Manihar as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajkumar emphasised that every individual must remain aware and take responsibility for their actions, noting that even a single careless move could lead to misfortune.
He stressed the need for collective efforts, awareness, and precaution to eliminate AIDS from society, highlighting the importance of understanding the causes, prevention and spread of disease.
The observance was also attended by staff and trainees of Healing Point, IRCA Kakching, and Ananda Singh Yoga and Nature Cure Research Hospi tal, Kakching.
CHANDEL
World Aids Day was also observed today at Modi Community Hall, Chandel, organised by the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit, Chandel and Tengnoupal, in collaboration with NGO partners of the district, under the sponsorship of Manipur State Aids Control Society (MACS) .
During the event, experts shared valuable insights into preventive measures and awareness on HIV/AIDS for the participating public.
