CRPF, RIMS observe National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was observed today at different places in Imphal with the theme "One Drop of Humanity - Give Blood, Save Lives".
At RIMS, Imphal, the Department of Transfusion Medicine organised the programme in collaboration with National Medicos Organisation (NMO), Seva Bharati Manipur and CRPF.
RIMS Director Prof G.Sunil Kumar Sharma graced the occasion as chief guest and led by example by voluntarily donating blood.
Medical Superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh, who presided over the programme, also donated blood, joined by several Heads of Departments and doctors.
Prof L Rajesh Singh, Dean (Academics), Dr Pratima Kh, HoD i/c, Transfusion Medicine, and Prof A Barindra Sharma, former HoD, Transfusion Medicine attended as guests of honour.
Prof Sunil Kumar said voluntary blood donation is a noble act of selflessness and called upon all sections to come forward.
Voluntary donors were felicitated, a blood donation pledge was administered by the Director and certificates were distributed.
During the camp, 237 donors were screened, of whom 200 donated blood - 170 male and 30 female.
Deputy Director (Admn), Principals of Dental College and College of Nursing, HoDs, CAO cum FA, faculty, nursing officials, staff and students participated.
Meanwhile, the 69 Battalion CRPF, Mantripukhri also observed the day to promote awareness on voluntary, regular and unpaid blood donation.
Commandant SA Rojan Zimik, 2nd-in-Command Pramod Chaudhari, Deputy Commandant Rohit Kumar, SMO Dr Pankaj Kashyap, officers, subordinate officers, personnel and local residents attended.
Blood donors of the battalion who donated during 2026 were felicitated with Commandant's Appreciation Certificates and cash rewards.
