AMMIK concludes month-long Patriots' Month music campaign

Imphal, September 01 2026: The month-long music campaign "Observance of Patriots' Month 2026" organised by the Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) concluded on Monday at the auditorium of Manipur University, Canchipur.

The campaign was held from August 1 to August 31 .

The closing function was attended by AMMIK president Shamurailatpam Nabachandra Sharma as chief guest and Dean of Students' Welfare, Manipur University, Prof Ch Ibohal as president.

Speaking on the occasion, AMMIK general secretary K Bobin Singh said the campaign was flagged off from the Western Gate of Kangla on August 1 .

As part of the campaign, artists of AMMIK visited schools and colleges to spread the spirit of patriotism and love for the motherland among students through songs, and to pay tribute to the forefathers who sacrificed for the land.

He said the campaign was aimed at instilling patriotic feeling among youths at the grassroots level through the medium of music.

During the campaign, programmes were held in 23 schools and colleges.

On the closing day, artists of AMMIK also offered tributes to the martyrs by lighting lamps in front of the Western Gate of Kangla where the campaign was flagged off.
