Workshop on 'Official Hindi and Standardization of Hindi Spelling' conducted

The Official Language Cell of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised a one-day Hindi workshop on the theme "Official Hindi and Standardization of Hindi Spelling" today at Banting Hall, RIMS, Imphal.
Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, inaugurated the programme as chief guest.
Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, and Dr Sinam Tondon Singh, Assistant Professor (Senior Scale), Department of Hindi, Dhanamanjuri College of Arts, Dhanamanjuri University, attended as guests of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Sunil Kumar underlined the importance of promoting Official Hindi in Government institutions and stressed uniformity and accuracy in Hindi spelling for effective official communication.
The guests of honour highlighted the need to standardize Hindi spelling and urged participants to strengthen their proficiency for administrative work.
Faculty members, officers, and staff of RIMS actively participated in the workshop.
Experts deliberated on aspects of Official Hindi, implementation of the Official Language Policy, and adopting standardized spelling in correspondence and documentation.
The programme concluded with an interactive session where participants discussed practical challenges in using Official Hindi and explored measures to promote its effective implementation across the institute.
