Meritorious students, achievers felicitated

Imphal, May 31 2026: Several organisations across Imphal today felicitated meritorious students and achievers, reaffirming community commitment to encourage youth and strengthen education.

The Senior Citizens' Club, Manipur, felicitated three internally displaced students who topped this year's Class XII Examination (COHSEM) at DM College of Commerce.

Arts topper Oinam Akash Singh of Johnstone Hr Sec School with 382 marks, Commerce topper Samuel Langpoklakpam of CC Hr Sec School with 322 marks, and Science topper Diamond Rajkumari of COMET School with 442 marks were honoured.

Their parents and school principals were also felicitated.

Club president Th Joykumar Singh, former president K Binodbabu Singh, and member Kh Rajen Singh attended as presidium members.

At Sagolband Thingom Leikai Community Hall, the Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee, under MLA RK Imo Singh, hosted the Sagolband Constituency Meritorious Award 2026.Over 220 students who secured 70% and above in Manipur Board and 75% and above in CBSE Class X and XU examinations were felicitated.

Imo Singh said education remains the strongest investment, highlighting sponsorship of 20 students for NEET/JEE coaching, 10 students at Physics Wallah Vidyapeeth, and refresher courses for board candidates.

Laishram Nobokumar Singh presided over the function.

The guests of honour included Ward No 7 Corporator RK Jiten Singh, Ward No 10 Corporator Salam Tiken Singh, T Phulen Meitei, Prof Senjam Mangi Singh, former Head of Political Science and ex-Dean of Social Sciences at Manipur University, RK Imocha Singh, Principal of Manipur Public School, and Imocha Akham, chairman of Xtra Edge School.

Meanwhile, Ward No 6 United Club, Uripok, organised its 2nd Meritorious Award presentation at Epathoukok Cultural Complex, Lamphelpat.

Toppers of HSLC, CBSE, and COHSEM examinations from the locality, along with two successful MPSC candidates, were honoured.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including Ward No 6 United Club president, Maisnam Raghumani Singh; Uripok Apunba Lup president, Soram Tekendrajit Singh; United Club Ward No 4 president, Senior Advocate Khwairakpam Tarunkumar; ATM Club president.

Ph Momocha Sharma; Youth Club Achom Leikai president, B Shanti Sharma; Sarnaj Tengbang Lup president, Mongshatabam Momonbi; PUHINGKHUN president, Yengkhom Jayantaram; Epathoukok president Maimom Deven; and Orient Club president, Laishram Dayal.

Moreover, Social Workers Club, Heirangoithong, and Langoljam Sagei Lup (LASAL) today felicitated meritorious students at separate functions.

SWC honoured about 40 meritorious studnets (Class X and XII) with shawls and certificates at SWC Community Hall.

LASAL held its felicitation at Neinasang, Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, awarding students who excelled in academics, sports, and other fields from 2024-2026 with shawls, citations, and mementos.
