Imphal, December 30 2009: Altogether 12 UG cadres including nine RPF/PLA cadres have been apprehended by security forces in a series of operations launched since December 26.Five AK-56 rifles have also been seized acting on their disclosure.

Imphal East SP Thokchom Radheshyam displayed the seized weapons during a press meet at District Police Hqs Porompat today.

Radheshyam said that this would prove a big blow to the outfit.

Two RPF/PLA women activists were pulled up by Imphal East commandos on December 26 .

They have been identified as Khundrakpam Chandrajini alias Ichaltombi (23) d/o Baruni of Khangabok Khullakpam Leikai and Moirangthem Tangbi (25) d/o Thoiba of Palace Compound.

One application related to RPF/PLA was recovered from the possession of Chandrajini.

The next day, a combined team of Imphal East commandos and troops of 23 AR apprehended four RPF/PLA cadres including one S/S 2nd Lieutenant.

SP Radheshyam identified them as Imphal East Division-II secretary and S/S 2nd Lt Lairenlakpam Joychandra alias Ibungo alias Borax alias Okendro (31) s/o Memnem of Chinagrel Tejpur.

The three other PLA cadres have been identified as Thoudam Banta (39) s/o Th Khongnem of Phaknung Mayai Leikai, Ningombam Sikender alias SK (30) s/o N Thadoi of Chingarel Tejpur and Nongthombam Ratan alias Romio (30) s/o N Shamungou of Phaknung Awang Leikai.

Ningombam Sikender is said to be a Member of Kangla Gram Panchayat, One 9 mm pistol and a magazine loaded with three live rounds and one Chinese hand grenade were also recovered from their possession.

Further, Imphal East commandos pulled up Up-Pradhan of Uyumpok Gram Panchayat Kshetrimayum Brojen (38) of Uyumpok Mamang Leikai.

One hand grenade and one 9 mm pistol were recovered from his possession.
