Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan has announced that road repair works of many routes in the Constituency which are in bad shape will begin by September 5 .
More specifically, the MLA said that the road stretches at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, Tarung, Neikanlong, Lairenhanjaba Leikai and Tharon will be repaired.
He made the announcement while inspecting the condition of these road stretches.
Speaking to the media on the sideline, Joykisan said that he has come across the demand being raised by people to repair the road stretch from Fisheries Junction to Neikanlong within a week's time.
Saying that there is no question of the Government ignoring the people of Thangmeiband, the MLA maintained that many of the roads in Manipur were damaged in the recent floods.

He further assured that the repair work of the Fisheries Junction to Neikanlong road in Thangmeiband which passes in front of Savio School will begin by September 5 without awaiting a sanction and a permit from the Government as there is also a hospital and a school along the route.
The road will be blacktopped, the MLA said.
Reminding that the Chief Minister had also assured to repair the road damaged in the recent floods once the rains stop, Joykisan continued that the Imphal ring road project which the Government took up will also incorporate Thangmeiband.
Apart from the roads, the MLA also inspected the areas in Thangmeiband which were inundated in the recent floods.
Joykisan said that he will continue to extend all possible help to the flood victims of the Constituency.
The MLA said that he had also drawn the attention of Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai over the frequent waterlogging along the road stretch in between Kendra Vidyalaya at Lamphel and the Grace Academy, Guigailong during the Assembly session.
Joykisan said that he will consult with the Chief Minister to formulate a policy and programme to prevent flooding as much as possible.
Maintaining that no families from Thangmeiband whose houses were damaged in the May 5 hailstorm have received any roofing sheets from the Government side, the MLA appealed to the people of his Constituency to consult with BJP Thangmeiband Mandal or TAKDO if their house roofs need repairing.
He said that he will start distributing the roofing sheets by September 5 .
