Centre working to resolve Manipur crisis : Union MoS

Imphal, August 29 2024: Even as the unrest in Manipur will complete the 16th month in a few more days, Union Minister of State for CAF&PD Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya has stated that the Central Government is putting in maximum efforts to resolve the crisis.

The Union MoS landed in Imphal on a two day visit today.

She was accorded a warm welcome at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport by CAF&PD Minister L Susindro Meitei.

Upon her arrival, Jayantibhai, accompanied by Susindro, visited Bishnupur and inspected various projects and schemes under the funding of the Central Government in the district.

She also inspected the condition of Loktak Lake.

From Moirang, the Union MoS went to other parts of Bishnupur and inspected the pond at Naranseina which was renovated under the funding of MGNREGS, the health and wellness centre at Phubala, houses constructed under PMAY at Potsangbam and Bishnupur Cluster Development Program among others.

Moirang AC MLA Th Shanti also took part in the inspection tour among others.

After the inspection tour, Jayantibhai chaired a review meeting held at Bishnupur DC office pertaining to the developmental taken up in the district.

Prior to the meeting, the Union MoS said that the Central leadership takes the issue in Manipur seriously and has been working to restore normalcy in the State.

Saying that development of North East States is one of the top priorities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she added that the Government is committed to the ideals of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.

Further stating that she has inspected different projects and schemes taken up in Bishnupur, the Union MoS appealed to all to support the initiatives of the Government.
