Cabinet hikes DA to 107 pc

Dearness Allowance (DA) given to employees of the State Government would be increased from 90 per cent to 107 per cent with effect from October 1.The State Cabinet adopted a resolution to this effect today.
The Cabinet presided by Chief Minister O Ibobi further resolved to implement (ACP) Assured Career Promotion for State Government employees who have been working for 10 years and above but denied promotion.
The Cabinet further decided to provide group insurance facility to such employees.
The State Cabinet has agreed in principle to raise the monthly remuneration of VDF and Home Guard personnel to Rs 6000 .
To build two Manipur Bhavans at Silchar and Bangalore was another resolution adopted at the Cabinet meeting today, informed a source.
Govt assures JAC : Representatives of Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Govt Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) held a meeting with the CM, Dy CM and other officials today at the CM office chamber regarding the demands raised by the JAC.
During the meeting, the Government is reported to have assured to release 17 pc, out of the total 29 pc, pending DA/DR to the employees from Oct 1 this year.
The Govt will come out with an order to issue 6 pc of the pending amount from April 1, 2016, informed a statement.
The Govt also assured to look into the feasibility of regularising/conversion of casual, muster roll and work charge employees.
The JAC members urged the Govt to implement group insurance scheme, it added.
Cheques distributed to SHGs : Basic inputs and other components of over 110 Self Help Groups (SHGs) of 11 Handloom clusters of Bishnupur district were distributed today at Ibudhou Oknarel Shanglen Hall of Ningthoukhong Bazar by the Commerce and Industries, Sericultue and Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Minister Govindas Konthoujam, who is also the MLA of Bishnupur Assembly Constituency.
The distribution ceremony was attended by the Director, Commerce and Industries Department B John Tlang-tinkhuma and Dy Director of Commerce and Industries Department K Lamlee Kamei.
Organised by the District Handlooms and Textiles, Bishnupur and Handloom Clusters of Bishnupur District under the North East Region Textiles Promotion Scheme (NERTPS), the scheme is sponsored by the Development Commissioner (Handloom) Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
The broad objective of the NERTPS is to develop and modernize the textile sector in the North East Region by providing the required Government support in terms of raw material, seed banks, machinery, common facility centres, skill development, design and marketing support etc, stated Dy Director Lamlee.
The specific objectives of the scheme include increase in the value of textile production, technology upgradation, improvement in design capability, diversification of product lines and value addition, better access to domestic and export markets, cluster-isation and improvement in labour productivity, market access and market promotion, he added.
He further said that the primary aim is to develop and modernize the handloom sector in North East Sates by providing the required Government support to achieve better productivity, increase in employment and value of handloom products through various interventions by means of improvement in design capability, diversification of product lines and value addition, upgrading technology and improvement in labour productivity by providing all forms of upgraded technology and methods.
