Tronglaobi killers will be arrested: CM

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand has assured that the perpetrators of the Tronglaobi terror attack which killed two toddlers will be arrested without fail.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the inauguration function of a new Temple dedicated to Ibudhou Phunal Ningthou Telheiba-Santhok Ningthou Apanba at Chandam Sandrok today.
The Chief Minister also vowed that all recruitments to Government jobs will be done in a clean manner without any room for corruption or bribery.
Asserting that no region or Nation can develop in the absence of peace and stability, the Chief Minister noted that all the people of Manipur were deeply hurt by the murder of two sleeping toddlers at Tronglaobi.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started an investigation into the killings.
The perpetrators will certainly be booked, Khemchand said.
The merciless killing came at a time when the Government was working hard to ensure free movement on Imphal-Dimapur road through Kangpokpi, Imphal-Jiribam road and Imphal-Ukhrul road, he said.
The Chief Minister stated that he was deeply shocked by the killing of the two sleeping children.
Khemchand said that successful candidates of the Manipur Civil Services exam conducted by MPSC and whose results were declared recently did not have to pay a single paise to anyone.
Notably, five successful candidates of the Civil Services Exam from Keirao AC were also felicitated at the event.
Khemchand said his Government is committed to ensuring that all recruitments to Government jobs are done on the basis of merit without necessitating candidates to bribe/pay anyone.
Except for Rs 500 paid at the time of obtaining forms, none of the candidates who appeared in the Civil Services Exam would have spent any money, he said.
The Chief Minister said that he talked with MLAs to see that all recruitment exams conducted by MPSC are free from corruption or graft practices.
Cultivating a culture of recruitment based on merit will boost the morale of all students in a big way, he said.
Speaking about the development programmes of Keirao AC, the Chief Minister informed the gathering that, based on prior information shared by the local MLA, concerned departments have been instructed to pay special attention to development of road infrastructure and water supply facilities within Keirao Assembly segment.
Khemchand said that he was both surprised and ashamed on learning that tap water was not accessible at Chanam Sandrok.
The Chief Minister assured that he would work at his best level in consultation with local MLA Lourembam Rameshwor to see that tap water is available at Chanam Sandrok within the current year.
Speaking at the event, Lourembam Rameshwor said that he has been working to take up a series of development programmes including road infrastructure and water supply facilities in Keirao AC under the leadership of Chief Minister Y Khemchand.
He said that Keirao AC is inhabited by six communities including Meitei, Meitei Pangal, Maring, Kabui, Tangkhul and Chiru, and all the communities have been living together in peace and harmony.
The new Government has been working at its best level to restore peace in the State and the Chief Minister went on peace trips to different hill districts, the MLA said.
He appealed to all the people to support the Government's efforts to restore peace in the State.
