COCOMI urges all ahead of Jan 31 rally

Imphal, January 28 2026: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has urged all people of Manipur, irrespective of their communities, to participate in the Manipur Kanba Khongchat (Save Manipur Rally) scheduled for January 31 .

Addressing the media at Lamphelpat today, COCOMI convenor YK Dhiren announced that the rally, set to begin at 10 am on January 31 from Tiddim Ground, will pass through Kei-shampat Junction, Waheng- bam Leikai, Nagamapal, and Khuyathong, before culminating at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband.

He appealed to the public to suspend work for the day and join the rally.

He said that a public meeting will also be convened at THAU ground after the rally.

Saying that safeguarding Manipur requires a collective effort from the people, he appealed to everyone to support the rally and demonstrate that protecting Manipur is a shared responsibility.

It is the responsibility of the Government of India to resolve the crisis in Manipur, but they have failed to do so, Dhiren said, while emphasising that a united voice from the people is crucial to make the Government hear their concerns.

He claimed that the Central Government has been using Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists to suppress the people of Manipur and violate their fundamental rights.

Further alleging that the Government of India has been driving a wedge among the different communities, he said that the people of Manipur must stand united against this divisive policy.

"Let's work together to help the internally displaced people, who are still taking refuge in relief camps return to their villages and ensure free movement across Manipur," he appealed.

He also urged all transport organisations and civil societies to support the rally.
