Search ops staged in different parts, arms recovered

A combined team of Central Armed Police Force, Assam Rifles and State police carried out an intensive search and area domination operations in different parts of the State today during which some arms and ammunition were recovered.
Churachandpur police, Sikh Regiment and BSF also carried out a similar operation at Chingphei, Heichanglok and its adjoining areas and seized three improvised mortar (pumpi) .
At Irilbung Kallika, Imphal East police and 37 Battalion of BSF searched over 50 houses and verified the people in the area but no one was arrested.
Singjamei police and 171 Battalion of CRPF carried out a search operation at Kakwa Naorem Leikai Pena Khongbam Pareng today morning and recovered two small arms loaded with six live rounds each and one hand grenade (inside a polythene bag) which were found lying behind a waiting shed.

On the other hand, Thoubal police and commandos carried out a cordon and search operation in the general area of Lilong Nungei and checked over 60 houses but no one was arrested.
Similar operation was also conducted at Aithuh, Haibung village and its surrounding area under New Keithelmanbi police station by Kangpokpi police and CRPF but no one was arrested.
Kakching police and 131 Battalion of BSF also carried out a cordon and search operation at Pangaltabi Mamang Leikai under Wangoo police station in Kakching.
During the operation over 80 houses were thoroughly checked and verified 250 individuals but no one was arrested.
In another operation, a team of Kakching commandos and 15 Assam Rifles recovered one country made pipe launcher, two hand grenades with detonators and fuses and one bullet proof vest from Singtom Village under Sugnu police station, said a later report.
