Many UGs arrested from all over

As part of the continuing counter insurgency operations in the State, a team of 23 Assam Rifles launched an operation in Yaingangpokpi market area and arrested two UG cadres of different outfits today.
According to an AR release, of the two arrested UG cadres, Thang Khushad (23) s/o late Holet of Semul village is an active cadre of KNA unser army no.1550 while Sagolsem Bimol Singh (29) s/o late Sagolsem Inao Singh of Yaingangpokpi is a cadre of KCP (Nando group).
Three live rounds of AK-47 were recovered from their possession, the release said, adding that arrested KNA cadre was trying to sell the ammunition to the KCP cadre.
Troops of 27 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) have also apprehended one PLA cadre during an operation launched in general area of Thongjao under Thoubal district following a special tip off in the movement of UG elements at around 2.30 pm yesterday.
In a statement, PRO Assam Rifles has identified the arrested UG cadre as self styled lance corporal Huidrom Inaocha Singh alias Ireinganba (35) (No.1181) s/o H Tomba Singh of Sugnu Bazar Part-II.
The arrested cadre has been subsequently handed over to Kakching police station, the PRO informed.
On the other hand, Imphal East district police commandos have arrested another PLA cadre identified as Moirangthem Somorjit Singh alias Oken Singh (34) s/o M Ibomcha Singh of Kongpal Laishram Leikai from Kongpal Laishram Leikai near People's Progressive Union (PPU) at around 10.30 am on April 19 .
According to a statement issued by SP of Imphal East district, on verification, Somorjit disclosed that he joined PLA in 1993 through one S/S major Suresh Bhaiya and underwent training at Bangladesh under army no.443 of 13th batch of the outfit.
Further, Somorjit disclosed that he is now working under the command of one Sharat of PLA and was involved in extortion of money from general public, Govt officials, businessmen, etc and provided shelter to other PLA cadres.
At about 4 pm of April 24, another team of Imphal East district police commandos also arrested one UPPK cadre identified as Leitam Nine alias Mamibabu alias Inao Singh (31) s/o L Modhu Singh of Thamnapokpi Makha Leikai, Yaingangpokpi from Khurai Lai Wangma.
On verification, Inao disclosed that he an active member of UPPK and he joined the outfit in January 2011 through one Nupajao of Wangkhei area and he was involved in extortion of money from general public and transportation of arms and ammunition from one place to another, the SP added.
Meanwhile, based on credible information, Imphal West district police commandos have also reportedly arrested one PREPAK activist identified as Mayanglambam Ibomcha Singh alias Sarkar s/o late M Soba Singh of Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai from Thangal Bazar at around 10.30 am today.
According to a statement issued by Senior SP of the district, on spot verification, Ibomcha disclosed that he joined PREPAK in January 2011 through one Momo of Kakwa.
One 9 mm pistol with one magazine having two live rounds of 9 mm ammunition have been seized from the possession of the arrested UG cadre.
