RIMS has also appealed to the public to refrain from making or spreading such divisive comments.
It added that RIMS Imphal, being a Central medical institute, under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India accommodates more than 75% of its medical, dental & nursing students from other States of the country.

The cooperation of the public is essential in maintaining harmony, respect, and trust between patients and healthcare providers, it added.
In emergency services such as Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics etc, one unit under a Senior Professor supported by other consultants, Residents (Senior & Junior) and Interns remains in charge for 24 hours, it said.
