Imphal, August 23 2024:

Chief Minister N Biren, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, enrollment drive's Manipur in-charge Dr Rajiv Roy, organisation secretary Abhay Giri, former presidents of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Ministers, MLAs and many BJP leaders attended the meeting.

"Let us wake up and be not deterred.
Whatever we are doing is for the State.
The violent crisis is a reaction to the Government's efforts to protect Manipur and ensure people's welfare", Biren said.
None of the Government activities have any intention to ruin the State or create scandals, he said.
He then appealed to all the participants of the meeting not to be disheartened but be upbeat.
BJP which won only two seats in the 1984 Lok Sabha elections has now the maximum number of seats in the Parliament.
It is also the biggest political party in the world with the highest number of members, Biren said.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP has been in power for three consecutive terms.
In Manipur too, the party is in power for the second consecutive term, he said.
Expressing sadness over the defeat of the BJP candidate in the last Lok Sabha election, Biren claimed that the percentage of votes secured by BJP was not lesser even though the party could not win the election.
When RK Ranjan won the Lok Sabha election in 2019, BJP secured 2.61 lakh votes and in 2024, the party got 2.64 lakh votes.
On account of the State's situation at the time of the election, there were certain areas where BJP could not work openly, he said.
All the activities, policies and programmes initiated by the BJP Government in Manipur were never done by other parties which were in power at the Centre for 30 years, he said.
"Let us understand BJP's works and accomplishments.
When we understand our accomplishments we will feel stronger", he continued.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have done everything to protect Manipur and her people, he claimed.
Border fencing has started, FMR has been scrapped and the State Government has been authorised to start identifying illegal immigrants, Biren said.
"We must first believe in ourselves otherwise it would be hard to win people's faith", he asserted.
He went on to claim that the people have started realising what the BJP has done for Manipur.
Saying that the enrollment drive is a crucial task of the party, the Chief Minister appealed to all the party leaders and workers to work more elaborately this time and see that more than five lakh members are enrolled.
Saying that the Central leaders are deeply concerned with the issue of Manipur, the Chief Minister exuded confidence that there will be positive developments soon.
