State logs 2 deaths, 10 new Covid cases

Imphal, August 21 2022: The State reported two new covid related fatalities and 10 new positive cases during the last 24 hours.

The two fatalities were reported from Thoubal (1) and Chandel (1) .

While both of them had comorbidities, one had received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while the other one was not vaccinated.

The two fatalities have pushed the cumulative death toll in the State to 2145 .

The 10 positive cases were reported from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (4), Bishnupur (2), Ukhrul (1) and Churachandpur (1) out of 438 samples tested at various testing centres.

The daily positivity rate was 2.3 per cent.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the State has reached 1,39,609 including 1,34,589 from the general population and 5020 from Central security personnel.

Four individuals were discharged today leaving 100 active cases.

The recovery rate slumped slightly to 98.39 percent.

Yesterday, 1113 doses of CO VID-19 vaccines were administered at various vaccination centres across the State.

With these, the State has administered 31,54,484 doses of covid vaccines including 16,24,848 first doses, 12,96,815 second doses and 2,32,821 precautionary doses till yesterday.

The State has vaccinated 62.28 percent of the eligible population with first doses and 54.28 percent with both the first and second doses.

Bishnupur district has vaccinated 74.10 percent of its eligible population with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines, Chandel 76.46 per cent, Churachandpur 63.90 per cent, Imphal East 76.65 per cent.

Imphal West 78.11 per cent, Jiribam 73.25 percent, Kakching 78.57 per cent, Kamjong 39.03 percent, Kangpokpi 22.98 percent, Noney 43.60 percent, Pherzawl 36.82 per cent, Senapati 36.84 per cent, Tamenglong 44.45 percent, Tengnoupal 49.56 percent, Thoubal 62.58 percent and Ukhrul 42.51 percent till yesterday.

Bishnupur district has also vaccinated 62.07 percent of eligible population with the second dose of COVID-19 vaccines, Chandel 71.54 percent, Churachandpur 61.95 percent, Imphal East 66.73 per cent.

Imphal West 69.04 per cent, Jiribam 62.14 per cent, Kakching 68.53 per cent, Kamjong 31.88 per cent, Kangpokpi 18.05 per cent, Noney 35.08 per cent, Pherzawl 39.66 per cent, Senapati 31.84 percent, Tamenglong 36.69 per cent, Tengnoupal 38.29 pet cent, Thoubal 54.42 per cent and Ukhrul 33.24 per cent till yesterday.

As of today, there are 26 vacant beds out of 38 at JNIMS while there are 55 vacant beds out of 62 at RIMS.
