Imphal, April 20 2026:
Denouncing all acts of terrorism perpetrated by Kuki militants in recent days in different parts of the State, Nagas and Meiteis jointly staged a protest demonstration at ISBT Gate, Khuman Lampak here today.
The protest was jointly organised by the Khuman Lampak Apunba Association, Tangkhul Avenue village and Nagaram village.
A large number of people belonging to both Meitei and Naga communities took part in the protest and they shouted several slogans in unison.

Speaking at the protest site, Naga People's Union Imphal president M Ngaranmi said that the Meitei and Naga people were protesting jointly against the murder of two sleeping toddlers by Kuki terrorists at Tronglaobi on April 7, 2026, death of three protesters in CRPF firing on the same day and the deadly ambush carried out by Kuki terrorists on Imphal-Ukhrul road at TM Kasom village on April 18, 2026 which killed two innocent Tangkhul Nagas.
He alleged that the Central forces and Kukis have been colluding to attack and kill Nagas and Meiteis.
Ngaranmi urged both the Government of India and the State Government to nab all the Kuki terrorists involved in killing Meiteis and Nagas and award them exemplary punishment.
The State Government and the Government of India must take up strong security measures to prevent any further attack and killing of Naga and Meitei people by Kukis, he said.
If any further attack or killing is repeated, the Meitei and Naga people will rise as one and launch a strong mass movement, M Ngaranmi said.
He also vehemently condemned the unleashing of brute force by security forces upon civilians protesting against the killings perpetrated by Kukis in collusion with Central forces.
Thrashing protesters like cattle is highly condemnable, he said.
Khuman Lampak Apunba Association publicity secretary Tokpam Sakuntala condemned in the strongest terms the murder of two sleeping toddlers at Tronglaobi and two commuters on Imphal-Ukhrul road in terror attacks carried out by Kukis.
She also condemned the killing of three civilian protesters by CRPF.
Questioning the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi even after sleeping toddlers were murdered in the most gruesome manner, Sakuntala pointed out that the Government of India even planned and executed elaborate military operations like Operation Sindoor when such terror attacks took place in other States.
Expressing strong indignation against such a partisan attitude of the Government of India, she asked whether the Indian leaders do not see Manipur as a State of India.
If Manipur is a separate Nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should make an official announcement, she said.
She accused the Central forces of aiding Kuki militants under SoO agreement in attacking Meitei and Naga people.
Sakuntala pointed out that Kuki militants attacked and killed Meitei and Naga people soon after Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand visited Kuki areas.
She asked whether Khemchand's 'peace' means killing innocent people.
The only thing the Government is good at is announcing ex-gratia and unleashing brute force upon protesters of terror attacks, she said.
The protest demonstration was participated by Tangkhul, Meitei, Mao, Anal, Liangmai, Rongmei, Lamkang, Pangal and non-local people.
